Welcome to the Yale Club of Tampa Bay Web Site!
The Yale Club of Tampa Bay, founded in 1964, offers a means for local rapport to alumni, current students, parents and friends of Yale. At the same time, the YCTB generates a variety of cultural, intellectual, sporting and entertainment activities for its members, and assists the University by conducting local student recruiting and interviews for admissions.
Among these endeavors are luncheon and dinner presentations by visiting Yale faculty, its President, and leaders from both the public and private sector; entertainment by The Yale Glee Club, the "Whiffs", other Yale musical groups and one or two of our own. Together with the Harvard Club, the annual fall football battle is televised to the alumni at one of our local pubs and in the spring, the Yale-Harvard group gets together with the Princeton alumni for a day at the races at Tampa Downs. Younger alumni are holding more outings of their own, and beer and brats are the known to have their place at what is now an annual baseball game against Harvard alumni. Our members also attend activities scheduled by the Ivy League Club.
The Club also sponsors a Yale College student for the Summer Community Service Program and offers summer intern work opportunities.
The Club is totally self-supporting. Our dues and Patron donations are the only source of income and are critical to pay for the Club's administrative and mailing costs of the notices and announcements of activities. We hope that through your participation in the YCTB, you will find the kind of friendships you enjoyed at Yale, along with stimulating activities from Yale and the local scene.
